Greetings from San Francisco

I figured it was time for me to stop being so lazy and actually update, for posterity's sake of course. How else would I remember my life and times if not through my lonely little disused blog? After two days of frantically trying to pack my life into a suitcase and 2 duffel bags, I have finally and successfully relocated to San Francisco, a charming city with many, many, vertically undulating sidewalks. Lovely. This is the weather that greeted me when I first arrived:

A great big SF welcome!

Luckily it wasn't raining as I trudged up the monstrous hills while lugging my 50 pound suitcase behind me like a sweaty pack mule. My apartment is...not what I expected, in more ways than one. Take for instance my "cozy" little desk, that fits my laptop and pretty much nothing else. Notice the proximity.

This is our kitchen, which I must admit is one of the perks to this apartment. The building is newly renovated, and the appliances are all shiny and new, along with the hardwood floors.

Having a (bunk!!) bed RIGHT in the same room AS the kitchen, however, is not one of the perks. I'm on top, in case you were wondering.

Our apartment is loft-style with 6 people total, which really takes some getting used to.

On the plus side, my roomies and I have been getting along pretty well, despite our (very) different personalities and backgrounds. There are SO MANY international students at this school (at least half of the students in each of my classes, not exaggerating), one of my roomies included. As a consequence I've been meeting and socializing with an astounding number of Asians, mostly Chinese and Korean. More people to celebrate Chinese New Years with I guess.

Mmmm...CNY hot pot.

All in all, I'm really enjoying my time in San Francisco. All this blasted walking is more exercise than I've had in 6 months or so, and my sleeping schedule is completely fixed. I love all my classes so far and I actually look forward to them, despite some intimidation factor. I animated for the first time today, and now I'm completely sure that this is what I want to do for a living.

Let's see how long the honeymoon lasts.

I WANT YOUR LIFE. Without the bedroom I mean. But I want the rest of it.

Hey, this is dr_peanuts from livejournal. I just saw one of your old comments on one of my nonsense posts (which of them weren't?) and I saw that you had moved.

Honestly I don't remember how I met you on lj, but I hope you're liking SF! Your apartment looks REALLY nice.
